Main Building


The Kerala Police Academy main building was constructed in the architectural style of Kerala .The main building complex foundation stone was laid by Shri. A.K.Antony Chief Minister of Kerala on 27th January 1996 and inaugurated by Shri. A.K.Antony Hon’ble Chief Minister Kerala. The main building complex comprise of the officer Senior Officers, Administration Office and Class rooms. The offices are well furnished and equipped with latest office automation gadgets. All offices are provided with computers and LAN & WiFi facility through NKN. In all the offices of the Kerala Police Academy iAPS is implemented for routine office works.

The main building complex have two parts, South and North blocks, the north block consists of administrative offices like, Office of the Additional Director General of Police [Training], Office of the Director KEPA, Assistant Director’s Office , Training Wing Office, Library, CCTNS Training Centre, Computer Labs, QM Store, Class Rooms and Duty Office. Conference hall situated in the middle of these two blocks on the top floor of main building. The South block having a Mini Conference hall, 2 Seminar Halls, Crime Simulation lab, class rooms and telecommunication wing.

This is the most solemn place of the academy. The annual commemoration parade and wreath laying in honour of such officers and personnel is held on 21st October

Bell of Arms


A quarter guard has 23 police persons including two havildars, 20 Armed Police Constables and a Beguiler for the security of KEPA. The Quarter Guard building was inaugurated on 23rd April 2005 by Shri. Raman Srivastava IPS, DGP Kerala in presence of Shri. Premshanker IPS , ADGP and Director KEPA.

Main Entrance


An impressive structure for Main Gate of Kerala Police Academy befitting the stature of this prestigious institute has been inaugurated by Shri Therambil Ramakrishnan, Hon’ble Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Kerala on 31st December, 2004. He opened the gate in the presence of Shri. Radhakrishnan, Worshipful Mayor Thrissur, Shri. Jacob Puinnose IPS, ADGP Training, Shri Alexander Jacob IPS, IGP Training and Shri. Vinson M Paul IPS, MD, KPHCC The Main Gate complex has got separate entry and exit points. The roof is constructed in traditional Kerala Style. This magnificent structure with good landscaping and exteriors has been designed and executed by KPHCC.

Amenities Block


KEPA Amenities Block consists 3 types of canteens [Dry canteen, Wet canteen and Provision Store] . And these canteens caters to all the needs of the trainees, trainers and their families stay at the Kerala Police Academy.
Amenities block was inaugurated by Shri. Jacob Punnose IPS, ADGP Training in the presence of Shri.Aravind Rajan IPS ADGP [Modernisation], and Shri. Alexander Jacob IPS, IGP Training.

Dry Canteen : All the uniform articles, dress material, clothing, training material, cosmetics etc. are sold at reasonable prices.

Wet Canteen : Tea, Coffee, Juices, Snacks and Keraliet light foods like ‘kappa fish curry’ were sold at dependable cost to the KEPA members. Dairy milk is supplied from the KEPA Wet Canteen to residential quarters of the employees on payment.

Provision Store : Essential commodities like edible oil, rice, fish, meat , vegetables, consumer products are also sold to the staff members at reasonable prices.

Subordinate Officers Mess



This block was inaugurated Shri. A.K. Antony, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala on 29th May 2004 in the presence of Shri. P.K. Hormis Tharakan IPS, DGP Kerala. The Kerala Police Academy is well equipped with a Senior Officers Mess. The mess has 25 well furnished Double Bedrooms , 5 Triple Bed rooms, a recreation hall and reading room and a dining area which can occupy 64 persons at a time which are being allocated for the senior course participants.

Guest House

A stunning guest house is constructed at KEPA for the visiting senior officers and eminent guests at Kerala Police Academy . It have 4 suit rooms(Nila,Kbani,Periyar,and Pamba),Two big family A/c rooms (Chandragiri, Achankovil) and eight well furnished A/crooms(Mayyazhi, Bhavani, Kallada, Kallayi, Meenachil, Manimala, Neyyar and Chaliyar). Two reading areas and all of the rooms are air conditioned. The KPHCC is constructed this Guest for Kerala Police Academy and was inaugurated by Shri.P K Hormis Tharakan, DGP Kerala on 30th July 2004.

Amphi Theatre


Amphitheatre at Kerala Police Academy is an open-air venue used for entertainment and performances. It provides space for general Class, seminars and for evening cultural programmes and training video presentations.
This is a wonderful open air class room located at a suitable place where hundreds of trainees can assemble apart from conducting yoga classes.



The Kerala Police Academy Auditorium foundation stone was laid by Shri. Oommen Chandy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala on 7th August 2005 in the presence of Shri. Therambil Ramakrishnan, Hon’ble Speaker of Legislative Assembly Kerala and Shri. Jacob Punnose IPS, ADGP Training.
The Kerala Police Academy has a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 2000 trainees for organizing educational and recreational programmes. The capacity of stage is around 100 persons. It is equipped with light and sound system and It has a green room, VIP room, food court. The auditorium was inaugurated by Honorable Home Minister of Kerala, Shri. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on 19th February 2011. In the presence of Shri.P.C.Chacko. Hon’ble MP, Shri. Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA, Shri. I.P. Paul, Worshipful Mayor Thrissur and Shri. Jacob Punnose IPS, DGP Kerala.




Hospital at Kerala Police Academy provides first hand treatment and ailment detection to the trainees and inmates of KEPA. Hospital provides periodical medical inspection and timely vaccination to the trainees.

Post office


The Kerala Police Academy is provided with a post office which is located in the campus. The timings are from 09.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m. All senior officers of the academy, trainee and officers use all the facilities of the post office. The surrounding inhabitants (India Reserve Battallion, Kerala Armed Police Bn1, Thrissur City Police Commissioner Office, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Children’s home, Orphanage, etc…) are also the beneficiaries of this post office.

Kendriya Vidyalaya


The Kendriya Vidyalaya – Kerala Police Academy was inaugurated at Kerala Police Academy Campus on 30/08/2010. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ramavarmapuram has become a reality after incessant efforts for nearly four years. As the popularity of the existing K.V at Puranattukara grew, the demand for another such school came up and the Kerala Police Academy came forward offering the land and facilities. Kerala Police Academy and Kendriya Vidyalaya- Puranattuukara are in good co-operation, as Kerala Police Academy hosted the 3 day course for all the 65 Principals of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pondicherry, Lakshadweep and Kerala States for discussing on academics, finance and administrative aspects for the Kendriya Vidyalayas of Chennai region on 24th, 25th and 26th July, 2008 in KEPA Campus. And we also hosted several NCC Camps of KVs and refresher courses for Teachers of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the Kerala Police Academy Campus and all were grand success.
The school has definitely ignited the hopes of parents already and the number of registrations has far exceeded the expectations. The school is bound to do well.

Trainees Barrack


The Kerala Police Academy provides accommodation facilities to its trainees in various Blocks in the Academy. The Blocks are well furnished and provide mess facility, besides all amenities to the trainees. There are 10 Blocks in the Academy which cater to various categories of trainees. A&B block have providing separate rooms for trainees.

Residential Quarters


The Kerala Police Academy provides residential accommodation to its staff and for this purpose has established residential colonies in the intricate and around it. Presently, around …… families are availing this housing facility. The quarters are categories to A,B,C,D,F&G and LSQ types.
