Mega RISA (Regional Investor Seminar for Awareness)

As a significant initiative to promote investor awareness and protect the interests of the investors in the securities market, Kerala Police Academy hosted a Mega RISA (Regional Investor Seminar for Awareness) on 26th March 2025. The program was jointly organized by the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) under the aegis of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) The Seminar was attended by the trainees, and staff of Kerala Police Academy, police officers from Crime Branch (EOW), students of the MSc. Forensic Science program at the Academy, students from Government Law College, Thrissur, and other dignitaries. The event titled “Smart Nikshepam Bhavi Surakshitham” focused on educating investors on various aspects of the securities markets. Through insightful panel discussions on topics such as “Understanding personal finance to achieve financial independence”, attendees were educated on the importance of savings and investments, investing opportunities, and how to identify red flags in Ponzi schemes, unauthorized advisors, and digital scams. Presentation and engaging sessions on 'Cyber frauds & cyber scams in the digital era', and a financial quiz were also featured in the Seminar. The event was also supported by other partners like BSE, AMFI, CDSL, MSE and MCX. With interactive discussions, data-driven insights and expert guidance, the seminar served as a valuable platform for the participants, reinforcing Kerala’s growing interest in the securities market. Shri Ram Mohan Rao, Executive Director, SEBI graced the event as the Chief Guest while IGP Shri K Sethu Raman IPS, Director of Kerala Police Academy was the Guest of the Honour of the event.
